So soon after the High School Musical franchise ended for her, is Vanessa Hudgens already desperate for work?

Without major prompting, the actress told E! Online this week that she’d gladly get naked in a future film.

“I will show nudity in a film when the time is right,” Vanessa said. “Right now, I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing it, but like I said, when the time’s right, if it’s an amazing movie that I’m really passionate about and that’s what it calls for, then we’ll see.”

Might Hudgens be aiming for retribution against Zac Efron, following his risqué photo shoot in Interview magazine in March?

After all, it’s not like Hudgens needs to make any birthday suit promises in order to land a role.

This summer, she begins shooting a pair of movies: Beastly, a retelling of Beauty and the Beast; and Sucker Punch!, based on a girl that is sent to a mental institution by her stepfather.

Vanessa’s history of nude photos might actually hurt her bare box office appeal. Why shell out $10 for a movie ticket when someone can surf the Web for free?

Zac Efron isn’t the only half of Zanessa that can look sexy in a photo shoot.

The High School Musical star is featured inside the May 2009 issue of GQ. In one photo, the hunk isn’t even wearing a shirt!

While girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens can’t exactly go that far – at least, not again – she does look quite beautiful on the cover of SELF magazine. See for yourself:

With new album, Identified, set to be released on July 1, Vanessa Hudgens recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly to promote the CD.

Here’s what she had to say about a trio of singles from it:

Sneakernight: The strange song title sums up the video, as Vanessa and friends just spend the night, hanging out in sneakers.

“When I show the video, I was like, ‘I cannot believe I’m wearing sneakers for the first time in a music video!’ It was awesome.”

First Bad Habit: Hudgens said this song is “about when you like a hug so much but know he’s a complete a–hole.” Wait, is that a dig at Zac Efron? No, Hudgens assures her fans, the event described above “hasn’t happened to me, but a lot of my friends have gone through so much crap.”

Gone with the Wind: “And now I’m standing my ground/And who I am/For that I’m proud,” she declares in this ballad. What does that mean?

“The song basically means: I know a lot more, and that timidness and naïveté is gone with the wind.

You don’t need to wait until October’s High School Musical 3: Senior Year to see Vanessa Hudgens.

The High School Musical star is launching a summer tour in support of her forthcoming album, Identified. It will be available in stores on July 1. The following month, the lovely lady friend of Zac Efron will sing for fans across the country.

Vanessa Hudgens is photographed and interviewed in the latest issues of Details.

In it, the High School Musical star sounds incredibly mature and grounded about the current era of celebrity gossip, accepting it as part of a successful career. “If you have paparazzi, you know you’ve gotten somewhere,” Hudgens said.

As for a certain nude photo scandal that broke last year, Vanessa shrugged it off, as well, chalking the incident up as a road block in life:

“Honestly, you have your ups and downs. But it’s over with and it’s done.”

Meanwhile, Vanessa and the gang (including boyfriend Zac Efron) are currently at a top secret location in Utah shooting the feature film High School Musical 3 which is due out in October.

Before she shoots High School Musical 3, Vanessa Hudgens is busy starring in Will.

In this offbeat romantic comedy, the 19-year-old actress plays Sa5m (the “five” is silent, Hudgens told Entertainment Tonight), a teenage misfit caught up in her high-school’s battle of the bands.

“My look is definitely more dark than in High School Musical,” Vanessa said. “I play kind of the ‘emo, kept away from everybody else in her own world’ kinda girl. She wears a lot of black. She always has longsleeves with thumbs in them.”

Call us crazy, but we prefer Vanessa Hudgens nude to this darker look.

Meanwhile, Zac Efron might need to get jealous of Hudgens’ costar, Gaelen Connell, the actor that portrays the movie’s title character.

“We do have a kiss scene, a very funny, awkward kiss scene,” Vanessa said of Gaelen.

Vanessa Hudgens chose a good time to get a bad haircut.

With the celebrity gossip world distracted by Eliot Spitzer’s prostitute, a set of Kristin Davis nude photos and a possible Lindsay Lohan sex tape, few will even notice that Hudgens may have gone overboard with her bangs.
