Various sources are reporting that Miley Cyrus has broken up with Justin Gaston… possibly for Nick Jonas!

Both E! Online and Us Weekly have quoted insiders that claim the pair called it quits on Saturday, the same day each posted sad Twitter messages regarding the relationship.

As the young Hannah Montana heads to Los Angeles for two months to shoot a new movie, a friend says Miley simply ran out of time for the 20-year old underwear model.

“They have been having trouble for a while,” said the source. “It’s been hard for a long time since Miley has been working so much and traveling a lot.”

But isn’t a good, hot, Bible-toting guy worth fighting for? Unless, that is, Cyrus has another waiting in the wings…

For a few weeks, Gaston has complained to friends about his girlfriend’s resurrected relationship with Nick Jonas. That gorgeous body was reportedly being eaten up inside by the rekindled friendship.

“She obviously has been hanging out with Nick again a lot, and Justin was cool with it at first, as long as it was just a cool, friendly thing,” an insider told E! News. “She didn’t cheat, but I guess Nick was trying to get her back the whole time.”

Adding fuel to this juicy fire? On Saturday, Cyrus posted a mysterious message on her Twitter page:

“I’m in a dark theater ‘writing’ a song with nick j who is rockin a faded eggplant shirt! :)”

Did Miley just imply – or simply state, really – that she was hooking up with Nick Jonas inside a movie theater?!? Is there any other way to interpret her “writing” reference? So what exactly is she up to? She sure has a complicated love life.

In a new, wide-ranging interview with Great Britain’s The Daily Mail, Miley Cyrus touches on a number of topics.

Among them: the difficulty of growing up famous, rich and with a legion of fans around the world; her hatred for celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton; and her plans to stay pure until marriage.

On being young and famous: “It’s hard growing up in the spotlight and I’m changing. I can’t be the 12-year-old who just moved to LA for ever. I’m having a great time doing what I do, but I’m also going to stumble and fall.”

On Perez Hilton: “That’s just a mean person. I don’t know how old he is, but taking it out on me is a little strange. It’s like going back to high school. I get to travel and go to London and Paris, while this person sits by the computer writing mean things about me. I’d rather be the one travelling.”

On sex: “I want to keep my virginity until I marry and then follow the lead of Jessica Simpson, another singer that made this claim, starred on a reality show, got divorced and has slept with as many men as possible since. I was brought up in a Christian family.”

But in the latest issue of Glamour, the teenage icon opens up about the future. What kind of mom does she want to be? Where does she see herself? Will Justin Gaston be there?

Here are excerpts of the interview Miley gave to the magazine:

On where she sees herself in a decade: “Hopefully I’ll be settled: making movies, living in a house, maybe even married. I think my mom did everything pretty close to perfect, and I want to be the cool mom that the kids run home to.”

On Justin Gaston: “The best thing that’s happened to me in a long, long time has been meeting Justin [Gaston], because he’s the most respectful and selfless person I’ve ever known.”

On her body: “One thing that bugs me is people who say, ‘Miley really needs to lose some weight’ or ‘She got her boobs done.’ ‘What are you talking about – let me grow!’”

On Hollywood role models: “I’m a huge Jennifer Aniston fan and a huge Angelina Jolie fan. Jennifer Aniston can put on a plain black dress, with plain makeup and hair, and look so stunning. Angelina always looks so comfortable in her own skin.”

Miley Cyrus in Glamour…

Jason Earles plays Miley Cyrus’ older brother on Hannah Montana.

Now, life is imitating art, as the young actor is speaking out in defense of his friend.

“I feel like they are picking on her,” Earles told People Magazine, referring to the criticism Cyrus has received for a number of recently released photos. “She’s a really good kid and like any normal 15-year-old, she’s not always going to make the best decisions.

Earles also emphasized the overlooked charity work Miley focuses on.

“If you’d see the amount of time she spends with the Make-A-Wish kids that come down to the set or the Phone-A-Friend program, where she calls these sick kids to cheer them up,” he said. “If people saw the amount of positive things that she does, they would see how silly the picture ’scandals’ really are.”

Cyrus is currently in the middle of filming the Hannah Montana movie.

Miley Cyrus still hasn’t gotten over the pain caused by her Vanity Fair photo spread.

Speaking to Billboard magazine, the singer to whom young stars such as Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez aspire said of the controversy:

“I don’t think people will look at me any differently, because they’re like, ‘You know what, I’m going to do stupid stuff too, and I’m going to make mistakes, and that’s fine. It still hurts when I think about it – but you know what, it doesn’t mean that you can’t move on.”

The Hannah Montana star added that fans can expect a very “grown-up” album in Breakout, which hits stores on July 22.

“My last one, Meet Miley Cyrus, was more just meeting me, finding out who I am, and here it’s more getting in depth of what’s been going on in my life in the past year.”

On the Today show this morning, Billy Ray Cyrus finally commented on the infamous Vanity Fair photo of his daughter posing topless.

The country crooner pleaded ignorance when it came to Miley Cyrus stripping down for the camera.

“I didn’t know they were going to strip her down and wrap her in a blanket,” said Cyrus, appearing on the program to promote Nashville Star, adding of the topless shot of his daughter: “I was surprised when I saw it … but, hey, that’s life. Stuff happens.”

As for the picture of Miley with her dad, striking a pose that appeared more suitable between a boyfriend and girlfriend rather than a father and daughter, the elder Cyrus laughed at such a notion.

“That’s just a daddy who loves his daughter a whole lot,” he said.

According to celebrity photo agency X17, a bidding war has started for photos of the star kissing someone. Reportedly, magazines and websites will pay around $30,000 for shots of Miley Cyrus smooching a non-celebrity and up to $150,000 for her slipping the tongue to someone famous.

“It has to be a nice picture. I have a couple of guys working on her,” said one of the paparazzi. “It’s not like Britney Spears, where we have 24/7 coverage, but we are watching her. If she goes out of town, we try to follow her.”
