Jet Li won the best leading actor award by the movie ‘The Warlords’ directed by Peter Chan. Andy Lau who also starred in the movie as another leading actor was nominated too. Unfortunately, he lost it to Jet Li and instead won the best supporting actor under the movie ‘Protégé’.

Jet Li was surprised that he received the prize. He specially thanked ‘The Warlords’ director Peter Chan and his wife Li Zhi. There were several other people that he wants to express his thankfulness.

On the other hand, Andy Lau said he was hoping to get the best leading actor award when he went up to receive his best supporting actor award. He was extremely nervous but when he received the award, he told himself to enjoy the moment and stop thinking about it.

23 years ago, Siqin Gaowa won the title of the best actress by the movie, ‘The Years Flow By’. This time she got nominated under The Postmodern Life of My Aunt and won the title again.

Lust, Caution directed by An Li was given the title of best Asia movie award.

Besides that, Aaron Kwok especially came back from Thailand for the awards ceremony. Although he did not win the best leading actor award, he was happy for his competitors who have more experience in acting than him.
